How to Cancel Your Life Time Membership
The real steps, the notice they require, the fees, and the traps — then a letter that cites your state law.
Must submit at least 30 days before billing or you'll be charged another cycle. In-person cancellation requires email, 9-digit Member ID, and photo ID.
| Cancellation methods | online member portal (my.lifetime.life), email, in person at the front desk |
|---|---|
| Online cancellation | Yes |
| Notice required | 30 days' notice required; if your billing date falls within the 30 days you remain responsible for that payment. |
| Fees | Monthly dues vary by club/tier; submitting on the renewal day can trigger an extra month's charge. |
Freezing or pausing your Life Time membership
Per Life Time's own member FAQ, you can suspend club access for up to 4 months once per calendar year with 30 days' notice — during the hold you're converted to a $15/month Life Time Digital membership (on-demand classes/app) rather than losing access outright. Separate medical or military freezes are available for up to 3 months. Reactivating waives the joining fee.
Contract terms & early-cancellation fees
Life Time memberships are generally month-to-month with no long-term contract commitment; the main trap is billing-cycle timing — submit your cancellation at least 30 days before your billing date (per Life Time's own FAQ) or you'll be charged another cycle.
